In compliance training, playing the video is not the point — finishing it is. Xakar packages handle skip blocking, pause on tab switch and sequential chapter locking inside the package itself. All three are switches you set when you build it.
The player remembers the furthest point the learner has actually reached. Any attempt to seek past it snaps back to that point and shows a notice. The progress bar also marks the part that has not opened yet, so the learner can see where the line sits. Once the video is finished the restriction lifts, so rewatching is unrestricted.
As soon as the browser tab leaves the screen, playback pauses and the current position is saved. It does not resume by itself when the learner returns, so leaving the video running in a background tab does not move progress along.
In a chapter package that bundles several videos, navigation can be set to sequential. Until the previous chapter is finished, the next one stays locked in the list. The completion threshold is 100 percent by default, so the video has to be watched to the end before the next one opens.
The decision is made by the player, in the learner's own browser. A learner comfortable with browser developer tools can work around it, and this feature does not prevent that. Treat it as something that holds in ordinary study conditions.
Yes. Skip blocking, pause on tab switch and the watermark are separate settings. You decide each one per item when you build the package, and anything switched off simply does not run.
Progress and completion are written to the LMS through SCORM 2004. Closing the window part-way is fine — reopening resumes from where it stopped. Build to xAPI instead and the same record goes to your LRS.
